It doesn't affect how long between shots at all - it uploads once the camera has stopped taking pictures. I'm honestly not sure how long, because I didn't time it or mess with it much; I just took it out and did it manually (defeating the purpose). Typically if I'm taking pictures, I'm editing them immediately afterwards for a blog post. But; if you're just casually taking them, you could just set your camera to stay 'on' for longer and your computer to stay on (instead of shutting off or going into sleep mode).
