So I washed LO's A&A swaddle blankets tonight (feeling very nesty these days!), and I dried them on low heat according to the tag... but I swear they shrunk! Is that normal? Or should I be air drying them?

Hmm I never measured mine but I definitely wash & dry... especially in the early days, we used them like crazy when nursing or to mop up spit up. They worked just fine as swaddles after washing and drying too!

Anxious to hear response. Just got some this weekend at my shower and have them in the "to wash" pile.

I always machine dry and I haven't noticed any shrinking!

Our dryer shrinks them as well as baby clothes.....(especially pajamas!)
I bought a drying rack from amazon and dry everything on the rack now.

Hmmm interesting! Maybe I am crazy!
I also just realized that I bought the "Aden by Aden and Anais" swaddle blankets, rather than the original A&A swaddle blankets. The ones I bought are 44x44 and thinner, rather than the original ones... which are 47x47. Wonder if that made a difference.

I have the smaller ones too and yrs they do shrink a little bit the first time you wash it because they are 100% cotton muslin. They get that soft nubbly texture instead of the smooth rougher texture from before they are washed. I'm pretty sure they are supposed to get that way since they are advertised to get softer with use! I only wash all the baby stuff on cold and dry on a lower/medium heat, and I haven't found that they shrink any more after the initial wash! I love our a+a's!!

I didn't notice they shrunk much, but rather they got tighter if that makes sense? Sort of like what @tysonja said.

always machine dry ours... they might have gotten a lil tighter, but they always loosen up again with use!

Agree that they get tighter, but I bet they'll stretch back out with use. I would throw them in the dryer!

I throw basically everything in the dryer to make my life a little easier. I've never noticed a problem with shrinking, and I've been using them six months now.
